Membership within the Global Economic Cooperation Council for Africa constitute a formal act of free and voluntary adherence to the constitutive charter and to the GECCA’s founding and governing principles, goals and frameworks.
GECCA shall maintain a principle of plurilateralism, global openness, and multipolar inclusivity, whereby membership opportunities are extended beyond geopolitical boundaries in support to GECCA’s mission for multilateral transition, multipolar prosperity, as well as cooperation and global Afrocentric economic transformation aligned with Africa’s sovereign priorities.
Accession to GECCA shall be effected through the free submission of the formal letter of intent or letter of accession addressed to the Secretary-General, in which the applicant explicitly states their endorsement and free adherence to the constitutive charter, the ethics and credibility agreement, as well as all other principle instruments governing GECCA.
Acceptance of potential members shall be granted to those who meet all the criteria and conditions provisioned under the constitutive charter.
Therefore, membership opportunities are open (subject to the provisions of the constitutive charter) to African and foreign States and governments, intergovernmental entities, regional economic cooperation communities, multilateral, international and multinational bodies, development finance institutions, cooperation and investment agencies, global funding foundations and consortia, major private sector corporations, as well as global research and scientific innovation institutions that fully meet the criteria; therefore with credible standing and a demonstrated capacity to contribute to global Afrocentric economic advancement.
